Governor José de Lima Massano and the representative of the United Nations Program for the Development (UNDP), Edo Stork, signed this Wednesday, 28, in Luanda, a memorandum of understanding in the field of strengthening cooperation in terms of deepening education and financial inclusion policies for the most vulnerable population in the country.
Within the framework of the South-South cooperation platform, the parties agreed to reinforce the exchange of experiences in terms of financial inclusion strategies, promote forums for the exchange of information on financial inclusion with informal workers and entrepreneurs, as well as the identification of the best tools to deepening their access to the financial system, promoting actions that stimulate the development of new digital payment methods, such as instant transfers and others considered fundamental for financial inclusion.
The two-year protocol also provides for technical support for the elaboration of the financial education plan or program at the national level, financial inclusion actions that promote gender equality and female empowerment, as well as the implementation of programs of initiatives in the area of financial technology for the development of the Fintech ecosystem in Angola, within the scope of the Payment System Innovation Laboratory (LISPA).
The memorandum of understanding signing ceremony was attended by members of the Board of Directors and the Governing Body of Banco Nacional Angola, as well as representatives of the United Nations Development Program and the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
