We wanted to write this article in the 100 days of governance of PR João Lourenço, after being re-elected in the elections of the 24th of August, but today, the 15th of November, it is 2 months since his inauguration, and we noticed that there is no need to wait for the 100 days, to accurately assess that it is on the right track, as much of what we expected to be done in a broadly positive way has been happening categorically.
In this five-year period, the slogan is “Work harder and Communicate better”, (the relevance of the fourth power, which is COMMUNICATION, which becomes the most important, because nothing works if there is a lack of communication), which means here the recognition that there were serious flaws in this aspect of commitment, as well as communication, which are the basic pillars to achieve the recommended objectives. And the MPLA and President João Lourenço, by introducing these nuances into the political metier, is to say that we carry out a self-assessment and self-criticism, and we come to the conclusion that we must work more for the people and with the people, but to achieve this goal, it is important dialogue more, communicate better in a contextual way, for each region, for each people, because then the result will be much more satisfactory. Measures like this are synonymous with political maturity, and gem politicians evaluate, study and catapult to more promising levels.
When we wrote about Goliath and David in the electoral phase, an analogy between MPLA and UNITA, we had foreseen that, although the MPLA won the elections, the dispute would be very close, and it happened, so the reflection had to come. We thought at the time that the decisions that put the MPLA and the government of President João Lourenço back on the podium would take a while, but we were wrong, he reacted very positively and is riding full steam ahead, the government machine is more integrated, more in tune , it seems that we are already in the pre-campaign phase or even the electoral campaign of so much alignment.
“Goliath did not fall”, was a phrase created by us, when we saw the results achieved by each provincial circle, where the MPLA lost in three provinces, namely Cabinda, Luanda and Zaire, and the greatest danger was Luanda due to being the capital, being the most populous, the most strategic, in short, because it is the heart of the country, and, losing in this province by 3-2, it was necessary to rethink everything. For this reason, the President decided to choose in his working group, the dynamic, the committed, the innovative, with a policy of acting closer to the population, for the great challenges. The maintenance of power will depend on the leader’s cards, and realizing this, he has been making very well targeted shots, the Goliath, when he does not fall, becomes fitter and more skillful, strengthens himself, using the DAFO matrix (Weakness, Threat, Strength and Opportunity)🇧🇷
I brought to Luanda, Manuel Homem, a young ICT, former minister, completely ready for the concerns that Luanda needs, more days and less days, the evidence is there, visible, like the Methodological Meeting of Communication Staff, that is, the communication to be looked at with reason for being, giving rise to the launch of the official new logo of the Province, “Luanda Certa de Ti”, of the fortnightly newsletter Luanda News and of the Quarterly Luanda Magazine, and for its support, appointed other staff for his team, whether in the provincial government or in the party secretariat in the province, young people like Tatiana de Morais and Aguinaldo de Oliveira, one for the area of Youth, Sports, Culture and Sports and the other for the DIP of the party, in order to same dynamic of paradigm shift. We can look at the spectacular way in which Mara Quiosa, the new governor of Cabinda, has been close to the people, dialoguing, supporting, bringing a new posture of governance and, we have an experienced one, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, who has already been in Luanda, Kwanza Norte and now Zaire, gathering some baggage.
These choices made by President João Lourenço are a clear example that he is on his feet, that he has not thrown in the towel the problems of the country, and that what he set out to do will have greater engagement, the fight against corruption will continue, and all the reforms that might somehow bring a breath of fresh air. Even at the level of Organs auxiliary bodies and in foreign policy there is a lot of firmness, very assertive in the management and resolution of conflicts in the region.
This is the right path, it is the ideal model, and, on the 22nd and 25th of this month, we will have meetings in the Political Bureau and in the Central Committee, which we believe will serve to evaluate these decisions, and the internal life of the party itself, because, the 10th of December is approaching, the day that the party completes another year of existence, because in fact, there is an urgent need to keep the party cohesive, vigorous, seek out disagreements, and make them realize that governance is a President who has other objectives , who wants to leave his legacy, who left the house in order for a better country.
