O The Criminal Illicit Investigation Service of the National Police command in Benguela, seized around 900 sacks of rice weighing 25 kilos, unfit for human consumption, in the municipality of Lobito. According to the authorities, the product was found in an abandoned building in the Cassai neighborhood.
According to police authorities, the rice that belongs to the Angolisar company would be marketed in informal markets in that province.
Police spokesperson in Benguela, Superintendent Ernesto Chiwale, confirmed that there were 900 bags of rice, among which were purchased by five ladies that “were totally spoiled”.
“Thanks to the denouncement of the people that it was possible to seize these products”, he underlined.
The official confirms the arrest of the five women who were trying to introduce the products to the informal market.
“The National Police caught the ladies urging the process of sifting the rice that were dirty and washing the bags with some means”.
