The fourth phase of the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 officially starts this Monday, 21st, across the country, in a ceremony to be presided over by the Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, in Luanda.
For this purpose, the Health sector created conditions in municipal health units and mobile teams, due to the fact that most of the high-performance vaccination posts are already closed.
According to the authorities, priority is given to citizens who have not taken any dose of the vaccine in previous campaigns, in a universe of more than 4.1 million people, which is worrying.
The Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, called on citizens to adhere to vaccination and to rigidly reinforce biosecurity measures, to counteract the increase in cases of Covid-19, registered in recent weeks.
The minister said that “the world has been registering a significant increase in the disease, due to community circulation and poor compliance with individual and collective protection measures, as well as low vaccination coverage in some latitudes”.
Therefore, the official insisted on the frequent use of security measures, such as washing hands, using alcohol gel and masks in closed places or in large gatherings and outside the family circle.
The health authorities recently informed that more than a thousand new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the country, from the beginning of October until the 14th of November.
