An agent of the National Police he lost his life yesterday, at Kilamba Kiaxi in Luanda and another was wounded by gunshots fired by criminals who were being transported on a motorbike, when they were approached by the forces of order.
They are the agent António Manuel José, who lost his life, yesterday, 29 September in the Municipality of Kilamba Kiaxi, in Luanda.
According to the National Police, the crime took place around 4:40 pm, when law enforcement officers, on duty, Chief Inspector Bernardo Mendes and the ill-fated agent António Manuel José, stopped the criminals, aboard an Agir motorcycle, and they, “without half measures”, fired point-blank shots at the National Police, one of the bullets fatally hitting the officer’s head and the other bullet wounding the Chief Inspector’s upper limb (arm), both from the Luanda Provincial Command, posted in the Municipality of Kilamba Kiaxi. The two serve in the Rastas Police Station, specifically, in the Chibay Mobile Police Station.
According to a police note, which Correio da Kianda had access to, the Chief Inspector and the Agent were also taken to Luanda’s General Hospital, where the Agent met with death.
The National Police thus lost, in the same circumstances, in the space of almost a week, two police officers who were zealously fulfilling their mission of maintaining public order and tranquility, the first case taking place last weekend in Centralidade do Sequele, where agent Julião Jercy Rodrigo was fatally shot and was, yesterday, buried in the Benfica cemetery in Luanda.
