The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) is working to arrest nine elements involved in the crime of theft, in Luanda, of US$154,500. Three elements, out of a total of twelve, are already under arrest, involved in this robbery in which a Somali trader was injured.
Among the suspects detained are members of the National Police, the Civil Protection and Fire Service and the Angolan Armed Forces. SIC has already recovered 31 thousand dollars and 300 thousand Kwanzas, of the 154,500 dollars stolen.
In a note from SIC, to which Correio da Kianda had access, that criminal investigation body, assigned to the Ministry of the Interior, clarifies that, following the investigation of the crime of qualified robbery of one hundred and fifty-four thousand and five hundred US dollars, occurred on the 7th of September of this year, around 11 am, in the Urban District of Sambizanga, in which the citizen Abdi Mohamud Ahmed, married, 41 years old, merchant, of Somali nationality, was injured, the SIC- LUANDA, designed and launched a set of investigative actions and measures based, within the scope of our work, which culminated in the arrest of three individuals in the aforementioned crime, in the case of citizens, ELTON JHON DA SILVA LEITÃO RIBEIRO, 35 years old, Senior officer of the National Police, holding the police degree of Chief Superintendent, placed in the Ministry of the Interior, where he performs the duties of Head of the Office of the Director of Human Resources, natural and resident in this city of Luanda, municipality of Talatona, found in the possession of Twenty-two thousand and seven hundred North American Dollars, of the Forty-One Thousand that benefited from the division of the stolen money.
CARLOS TEODORO LOPES MOREIRA, single, 52 years old, Captain of the FAA, placed in the Grafanil Military Command, born in Kwanza-Sul and residing in this city of Luanda, Municipality of Viana, Neighborhood in possession of One thousand Four Hundred North American Dollars and three hundred thousand kwanzas (300,000.00), of the ten thousand dollars (USD 10,000.00), which was benefited, and TOMÁS ANTÓNIO FERNANDES MANASSA, single, 40 years old, 3rd. Deputy Fire Chief, placed in the Directorate of Infrastructures and Equipment, born in Luanda and resident in this city, in possession of Three thousand North American Dollars (3,000.00,USD), benefiting from five thousand dollars (USD 5,000.00).
Thus, the note adds, three thousand nine hundred US dollars (USD.3,900.00) was recovered in the possession of the Commander of the Police Station of Bairro Operário (2nd Police Station), the Intendant BENVINDO LUTANÁDIO NANGA, thus making a quantified total recovered in THIRTY-ONE THOUSAND NORTH AMERICAN DOLLARS (USD 31,000.00) and THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND KWANZAS (Kz. 300,000.00). conclude.
