The Republic of Angola will be represented at the 50th session of the Industrial Development Council of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), which starts on Monday, 21 November, in Austria.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Víctor Fernandes, participates from 21 to 23 November, in Vienna, Republic of Austria, in the 50th Session of the Industrial Development Council of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), which will pay special attention, among several issues, to the impact of inclusive and sustainable industrial development, to UNIDO’s role in achieving goals on the same, particularly through its strategy for integrating gender empowerment actions, especially in rural areas.
The Industrial Development Council is an executive body of the deliberative structure of UNIDO, composed of 53 members elected for a term of four years on a rotating basis and meets annually, with the aim of examining and reviewing the implementation of work programmes, budgets regular and operational, in view of which it makes recommendations to the General Conference on Policy, including the appointment of the Director General of the institution.
In addition to Minister Victor Fernandes, the Delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce at this event also includes the National Director of Industry (DNI), César Cruz, the Director of the Institute of Industrial Development and Technological Innovation of Angola (IDIIA), Filomena de Oliveira and Department Heads of the aforementioned Institute.
