According to Francisco Furtado, any citizen coming or having transited in these countries or in any other country where the variant is circulated in the community is obliged to observe a 14-day home quarantine, regardless of the stage of immunization.
“This means that even if the citizen has taken the two doses of the vaccine, provided he or she comes from the aforementioned countries or in transit in these countries or where the variant circulates when arriving in Luanda, passing through the testing center at the international airport. it is communicated and registered, and its location is collected, so that it can comply with a 14-day home quarantine period”, he said.
If they test positive, added Francisco Pereira Furtado, people from these countries are subject to an institutional quarantine, under the terms defined by the country’s health authorities.
“Breach of home quarantine by any national or foreign citizen is sanctioned with a fine ranging between Kwanzas 250,000 and Kwanzas 350,000, in addition to transforming the fine into institutional quarantine”, he stressed.
The new presidential decree also lifts the restrictions on scheduled flights to and from India, as of January 1, 2022, with the competent ministerial departments being responsible for defining the gradual cadence of frequencies.
