The Director of the Polytechnic Institute of Cacuaco nº 4072, Amaro Braz Narciso, is being accused by the Angolan Students Movement (MEA) of refusing to give up the amphitheater of the institution he directs and of having received an order from the Secretary of State for Education, from the provincial delegation and Education, because the student movement is supposedly not “aligned with the JMPLA”.
According to those responsible for the MEA, on October 5, 2021, they filed a letter with the direction of the Polytechnic Institute of Cacuaco nº 4072, with the intention of carrying out an activity in their amphitheater, which, according to them, is confirmed by our team. newspaper, was accepted and responded positively by the director of the same institute, as can be seen in the document.
The students say that arriving at the space on the day scheduled for the activity, last Sunday, February 2nd, the director Amaro Braz Narciso, former municipal director of education, “simply prohibited our entry into the Institute, alleging superior orders from the Secretary of State to Education, from the Provincial and Municipal Delegation of Education”.
On the other hand, the MEA demands compensation in the amount of 320,000.00 Kz for material and moral damages caused to the organization. “The MEA reiterates that superior orders were never law, should not be and do not have binding legal force to prevent the materialization of a constitutional rule enshrined on the penalty of putting at risk the democratic and rule of law that the Angolan State prides itself on being”
Given the circumstances, the MEA urged the Ombudsman to appeal that the aforementioned bodies “be held accountable, for proving that they use public institutions as a partisan instrument, demonstrating an act of intolerance for ideological and partisan issues thus causing a malfunction of institutions public”.
Until the end of this matter, the team of Kianda Mail, tried to contact the director of the Polytechnic of Cacuaco by telephone, but we were unsuccessful.
