In a statement today, September 29, 2022, to Correio da Kianda, the new governor of Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, who is in the province of Cuanza-Norte, at the handover ceremony of the new governor Pedro Maquita, said that during its mandate will prioritize issues of a social nature, awareness and humanization, with great emphasis on human resources.
The official also said that the first day of governance will be an assessment of other aspects of the economic domain and others. Adriano Mendes de Carvalho stresses that it is not about arriving and imposing various measures.
Zaire is one of the provinces in the country where fuel smuggling is frequently practiced. Regarding this issue, the new Governor assured that measures will be applied to contain this practice. On the other hand, he reaffirmed that with this control it is possible to be a source of income.
“Angola may gain well, controlling the products that leave the borders”.
Last Tuesday, the new governor had a meeting with members of civil society in Zaire, where he heard them.
Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, who has already served as governor in the provinces of Luanda, Cuanza-Norte and now the province of Zaire, says he is open to dialogue with all stakeholders in this region of Angola.
