The Angolan Minister of the Interior, Eugénio Laborinho assured today that the various members of the Angolan forces of order and security will not be removed from the streets in a short period of time, due to the presence of the 27 Heads of State and Government, who are in Luanda.
Speaking to Lusa, the Angolan official on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, said that the population should feel safe.
“We are on prevention, because in this act there are many Heads of State and Government, in a total of 27. There is no way to remove them from the streets now, because there are routes that we must ensure, so that nothing happens to our visitors. should feel safe and our population is satisfied with that” he said.
The streets of Luanda have seen a strong apparatus of forces that are transported with heavy war materials, but the Angolan government official denies that there are soldiers on the streets.
“There are no soldiers on the streets. The Ministry of the Interior is in charge of public security, through the National Police and its operational bodies. It is impossible to have soldiers on the streets, because the situation is not unsustainable”, guaranteed the minister.
