Afonso Agostinho Matari, MPLA historical, outgoing member of the Provincial Committee and Executive Committee in the province of Malanje, announced yesterday that he will, this Monday, at 9 am, to the Constitutional Court (TC) withdraw the request for objection he presented against the secretariat of your organization in this province.
Afonso Matari filed a challenge to the Constitutional Court on November 22, to prevent the participation of more than 70 delegates in the VIII Ordinary Congress of the MPLA, who he considers to have been appointed by the first provincial secretary of the MPLA, Norberto dos Santos “ Kwata Kanawa” and not elected, as recommended by the party statutes, during municipal and provincial conferences, alluding to the conclave of the “comrades” party, to be held on the 10th of this month, in Luanda.

He stressed that the complaint presented to the Constitutional Court was not intended to harm the party or the only candidate, who is the President of the MPLA, but to contest the violation of the statutes that he alleges had been violated by the first provincial secretary of the MPLA.
Afonso Matari argued that the holding of the municipal and provincial conferences, in Malanje, was marked by serious irregularities on the part of Norberto dos Santos, and calls on the central structures of the party to review this situation so that it does not happen again in the future.
The politician, who will be accompanied by his lawyer, said that with the withdrawal of the complaint, delegates from the province of Malanje will participate in the VIII Congress. He stated that he is aware that the request for his cancellation occurs at a time when there are five days to go before the conclave.
Afonso Matari was confident that his decision will be welcomed by the Constitutional Court, and he therefore appeals to all militants to understand what motivated them to file this complaint, as well as any inconveniences.
