UNITA’s provincial secretary of Luanda, Nelito Ekukui, today considered the statements of the MPLA provincial secretary in Luanda, Bento Bento, to be responsible for the vandalism of the party’s headquarters in the urban district of Benfica to be “irresponsible and reckless.
Novo Jornal, Nelito Ekuikui pointed out the statements by the MPLA leader in Luanda as unjustified and said that “they do not help the good political environment in the country” in this pre-election period.
Nelito Ekuikui condemned “in the most energetic terms” the vandalization of the MPLA committee, which Bento Bento accuses UNITA of having intelligently organized in Benfica and said that the inconvenience created with the stoppage of traffic was regrettable.
“We must be guided by dialogue, because dialogue indicates better paths”, he appealed, recalling that Angola has already lived through bad times in the past and does not want to experience violence anymore.
“Violence generates violence and this is not the way. A piece of advice for the Government: it has to know how to dialogue with valid interlocutors”, said this UNITA leader, who added that the Minister of State of the Military House of the Presidency of the Republic, who is who leads the negotiations with the taxi drivers, did not negotiate with valid interlocutors.
“He said that the strike was suspended when on Monday we faced another reality. This means saying that the President of the Republic was lied to”, he concluded.
