Last Tuesday, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Football Stadium in the province of Huambo, to be built in the Cacilhas neighborhood, in an area of 13 hectares. . When completed, the infrastructure will have a capacity for 10,000 spectators and is budgeted at 38 million US dollars.
In addition to football, the stadium will be available for athletics events, category 3, in the disciplines of pole vault, high jump, long jump and triple jump, as well as javelin, shot put and hammer.
The stadium should include changing rooms for athletes, support staff, referees, warm-up areas, medical emergency rooms, rooms for an anti-doping center, media area, WC for the general population and people with reduced mobility, VIP areas, exterior for parking, area for pedestrian circulation and a studio for radio and television.
The act of laying the first stone was witnessed by the provincial governor of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, who on the occasion expressed her joy at the completion of the first phase of this important project. The Archbishop of the Catholic Church in Huambo, Dom Zeferino Zeca Martins, was the religious entity invited to bless the work.
In a statement to the press, Minister Ana Paula Sacramento Neto said that the sports infrastructure will benefit all practitioners in the Province of Huambo and beyond, as well as bringing sports growth at the highest level.
